Surfer Stunning

Swimwear pieces from Prada, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton never cease to amaze me, especially on Erin Heatherton's sleek, tan body photographed by Rennio Maifredi and styled by Laura Seganti. I've included my favorite shots, which make me want to grab a surfboard, go to the beach with a swimsuit or two from Marie Claire Italia's editorial! No exaggeration.

Props to Teen Vogue & Kate Kisushina!

In March 2010 issue of Teen Vogue, Russian newcomer Kate Kosushina of Supreme Models (age 16) came onto the scene in the editorial "Toy Soldier" photographed by Nick Haymes. Styled by Havana Laffitte, Kate is shown in sweet ensembles by the likes of Toga, Holly Fulton, Proenza Schouler, Louis Vuitton, Missoni, and Billabong! The notion that Teen Vogue was trying to create a cutesy doll editorial is an aspect put away by the dark, and quirky mood the shoot took. (Click for a larger view)

Coco Rocha Covershoot FLARE April '10

(click for a larger view and details on what Coco was wearing)

"Hi I'm Coco Rocha and I'm on my FLARE magazine covershoot."
Coco Rocha, has once again graced the cover and editorial of "OH SO COCO" of FLARE magazine, one of my favorite Canadian magazines, the April 2010 issue! Recently Coco described taking her now fiance James Conran to her FLARE covershoot a few months back, when his initial intentions of a day on the shoot recruited to draw on the giant chalk board used for background.. when word spread on set that he was an artist with a background in murals. Even a video of the shoot from FLARE was recorded for a look inside our favorite model at work.

"All together I think he drew at least 8 unique backdrops that corresponded to the outfits I was wearing," Coco stated on OH SO COCO.

Lisa Tan, Editor-in-Chief of FLARE magazine commentated during the video on why they chose Coco to shoot; "She's so expressive, she's playful, she's a performer, she has a dance background. She's not afraid to make fun of herself, she just goes it." Lisa Tant also gave us an explaination of the shoot; " The story today, it's all about color and the moods of Coco."

Today is the first day it has hit newsstands.... GO COCO!

Coco Rocha is Engaged!

Today is a very special day, because Coco Rocha announced she is engaged! She was proposed to a week ago by her beloved beau James Conran and accepted.

"I don't think I've ever been so happy as I am right now. I can't wait to start the rest of my life with him..."
---- Quote from Coco Rocha's post on her blog http://www.ohsococo.blogspot.com/
Congratulations to the future Mrs. Coco Rocha Conran! I was so happy when I heard the happy news, this is a blogger's dream come true! Questions leaving you in suspense? No worries, I have some information from Style.com! (How I love that site)

After accepting her engagement ring from James Conran last week, Coco is excitedly making the plans for the happy day. The date’s set, the location chosen and the dress – though not yet made – is done.
“I’m getting married in three months,” Coco told The Daily backstage at Dior last week. “I can’t believe it actually, but I’m so excited.”
And Fashion Week wasn't the only reason she was in Paris. “We’re getting married right here in France,” she revealed. “ A friend has this beautiful house here so we’ll bring everyone here!”
And the dress....“I know exactly what’s it going to look like and who’s making it, but it hasn’t actually been produced yet,” she said, careful not to give away too much. “But the time is ticking!”

Remembering Alexander Lee McQueen

R.I.P.
The Genius behind the House of Alexander Mcqueen

Alexander Mcqueen spring/summer 2010 ready to wear show.
It was announced on February 11th in the afternoon that Alexander McQueen is pronounced dead as he was found hanging in his Mayfair home. The fashion world has gone reeling since....

Everyone lucky enough to have the oppurtunity to be invited to one of his shows is enternally indebted to him. The shows were burned into the memories of all who saw the silhouettes he sent down the runway of feminine fantasies and rebellion in collections. Such titles were earned "l'enfant terrible" and the "hooligan of English Fashion." to Alexander McQueen over the years, but righteously so as he himself admitted. His shock tactics and controversy incorporated in his lavish, unconventional shows and collections were what made him one of the greatest designers that ever lived. Alexander McQueen managed to orchestrate the extreme in his shows using animals and technology to take us into another realm, shooting adrenaline up veins in the experience. In the dungeons of the Conciergerie, the front row was petrified when Alexander sent a pair of wolves straining on leashes with a model clad in lavender. His Spring 1999 show featured Shalom Harlow being spraypainted with robotics in the finale. He incorporated a human chess game into the runway as the models became the pieces in the Spring 2005 show. The fall 2006 show, "Widows of Culloden", which featured a life-sized hologram of supermodel Kate Moss dressed in rippling fabric. Alexander McQueen transformed into an enviormentalist for his Spring 2008 show with a video projection of a revolving Earth and various stuffed animals, including Alexander who was dressed up as a white rabbitt, came out in the end. His Spring 2008 show was a tribute to his mentor, Issy Blow, who died in May 2007. It's hard to comprehend that he would follow her so soon, along with his mother who had died only nine days before Alexander McQueen died.

Alexander McQueen was born March 16th 1969 in Lewisham London to a Ronald McQueen (a taxi driver) and Joyce Mcqueen (a social science teacher). He began dedicating his life to fashion at 16 where he began work at Savile Row as an apprentice cutter and wrote in biro "I am a c**t" into the lining of a jacket made/intended for Prince Charles. Later he recieved Commander of the British Empire award from the Queen (Prince Charles' mother..haha) at the Buckingham Palace. He was one of the youngest designers to recieve "British Designer of the Year" 4 times nevertheless! He led an amazing, inspiring life and is credited from his starting point in his career to the future as bringing drama and extravagence to the catwalk. He was an arch romantic with a pessimistic streak. It produced some of the most beautiful, shocking images in the history of fashion, but it’s a state of mind that can lead to endless disappointments. The death of McQueen’s beloved mother last week would have validated his pessimism. It would undoubtedly have taken away his most vital support. It’s awful to imagine him trying—and failing—to cope, and one can only hope that, if he was looking for peace, he found it.

God Save McQueen

This whole tribute was solely created by me, I worked really hard on it and my tribute will continue....
