Dark, smoky eye makeup… windswept hair… A far cry from Emma Watson’s more atypical attire of wizard robes. Her latest incarnation it seems is the face of designer heavyweight and British fashion label, Burberry.
Now, I’m very interested in designer housing produce, I work in a internship for modeling agencies for Chrsit's sake. There clothes are glorious, but that’s expected. Smaller designers usually tickle my fancy (and my purse) more. But after seeing Emma Watson~ the wizard I grew up admiring – posing for Burberry, I was ecstatic.
The 19 year-old actress utilizes her grown up, sophisticated look, as she models items signature to Burberry, sporting the iconic Burberry check instead of the flowing Hogwarts robes we are used to seeing her in.
Growing up in the public eye, the Harry Potter actress has been reserved and sophisticated. From being the face of Chanel, to wearing Alexander McQueen on the red carpet, and modelling in fashion publications, Emma Watson has solidified her role as a style icon, at such a young age.
Christopher Bailey, Creative Director of Burberry said: “Having known and admired the lovely Emma Watson for some time, she was the obvious choice for this campaign. Emma has a classic beauty, a great character and a modern edge. Her charm and intellect and brilliant sense of fun made the whole shoot feel like a picnic on the Thames.”
Shot by renowned fashion photographer Mario Testino, directed by fashion prodigy Christopher Bailey and modelled by style icon Emma Watson? This generation’s fashion talent was at full force as the campaign was shot in Westminster, Central London, where the brand recently moved headquarters. With the River Thames distinctly present in the background, Bailey aimed to capture a ‘wonderfully historic part of London’ to reflect the history and modern take present in the brand.
A collaboration of old world heritage and budding young stars captures sporting perfectly tailored trench coats is bang on target! Emma Watson has definitely captured the essence of a Burberry campaign, with a touch of magic and je ne sais quoi!
